With Sephiro Aries out, the opponent cannot use his spirits the turn its summoned...
and with Pheonix Sword, you can just attack it down.
Whats more is that Sephiro Aries can recover and attack again, no matter how many spirits they have.

So I hear Seig Crimison is pretty good.

After some turns of garnering +5 card advantage, +3 core advantage, I decided to swing for game. Got stopped by Silent wall, but was like "oh what can he do with only 3 cards? I still have Mist Curtain. Besides, I have grahnim to let my Seig Crimison block whatever."

This means that somewhere along the story, Hajime will be getting his hands on the "Dog" spirit.
Those unfamiliar with the origional story, Momotaro has 3 friends: A dog, a Crane and a monkey... Yet the deck only has 2 of these guys.

What kind of card gives +4 Card advantage like no tommorow and isnt an X Rare?
So I was reading up on Nova Cup
Its an annual cash tournament, that instead of winning, focused more on entertainment value of the game.
Last year, the Nova cup wasnt called that, but its the same people hosting, etc.
(Last year it was Freedom Cup?)(Freedom= Seig Freiden)
So, rules go down like this:
You are not allowed to use any X rares other than spirits with "Nova" in its name
You can only use 3 X Rares in the deck(IE: Only 3 Novas) (Not counting Promo X Rares)
Seig Brave is forbidden
Every game Win is 3 Points. Every game loss is 1 Point.
Bonus Points:
Every time you summon a "Nova", you gain 1 Point.
Every successive "Nova" you summon that turn, you gain an additional 2 points.(IE: The second Nova summon was worth 3 points)
If you use Seigwurm Nova's health recovery effect, you gain 3 points.
If you use Meteor Storm, or Neibelring, you gain bonus 1 point(for Meteor Storm, 1 Point for every time life is taken)
At the end of the Match, you gain 1 point for every Nova
Simple right?
Instead of building the deck to win, you should build the deck to be FAAABULOUS
What's a battle worth if its not fun to watch?
So there were a couple of strategies to this cup...
1: Pentan Turbo (Serious.)(Really.)
2: Seigwurm Nova Brave Turbo(Full Red)
3: Darkwurm Nova Control
4: DOUBLE NOVA!
5: TRIPLE NOVA!(Even crazier)
The advantage to Pentan is that they have no other X rares to play, and hence can use their Magics and Fortune Teller Pentan/Helens to draw up their deck crazy fast, allowing for easy Prince Pentan -> Pentan NOVA plays.
Seigwurm Nova turbo is self explanatory. it uses Red Nexuses to draw into the 3 Novas, and Braves to help with the draw and control.
Darkwurm Nova Control is built to counter this brave build. Just regular old Darkwurm Nova
Double Nova! Uses Seigwurm Vega as a stepping stone to both Novas.
TRIPLE Nova! Uses all 3 Novas... to strangely fun ends.
Now, the tournament was 4 rounds of swiss(counting points for placement).
Most of the higher scorers were around 35-45 points...
And Number 1?
INFINITE.
What?
APPARENTLY, there is a way to summon A "Nova" an Infinite number of times in ONE turn, and return it to the hand...
Which Nova this is, I have yet to find out...

With all the Strike support and Apollo support, Strike Apollo to tier 1?
Two decks really got a big push this new set...
Purple(in GENERAL). Wow Assasinate and Zuganake really push them forwards.
Hagen helps a bit, and they have core boost in the form of Yang-Ogre.
And the X rare makes a brand new decktype: Snake Control.
Another deck that got a push:
Blue/Purple - Touch Green.
So... they have massive core boost from Green already,
add on the Giant's port + Bloody Artifact = Total attack lockdown for several turns
And just pump out cores and control advantage with Zuganake/Deadly Balance,
Get your nexuses up and running thanks to Forbid Vulture
Drop either Perseus and completely wipe the opponent's 5 life from existance, or drop a Raptor Garoud and nuke what remains of the opponent's deck.
But seriously Giant's Port + Bloody Artifact + Forbid Vulture is insane stalling.
Actually quite cool
Summon both together as spirits, you can take down 2 less than cost 5 spirits per turn... at LEAST
Then you can brave them together to make a cost 9

Now that we've gone over my awesome(not so lol) pulls, I'd like to use the rest of this post to discuss some of the more interesting cards that caught my eye this pack.

Now, its stats+Gekitotsu is pretty nice(even gets Star Dragon support!), but whats really fun is when its level 3 effect comes into play.
Depending on your play, this might your turn 2-3...
And you can summon any God-Star(after you attack with both spirits)

Also with the sheer amount of support they get, its a force to be reckoned with.

Unlike previous theories, the Otherworld King =/= Rollo the Adventurer!
Ever wonder the reason why Grand Rollo is called so?
Thats right, its short for Ground OF Rollo!
Rollo adventured around the 6 worlds, decided "what the hell Ill make it better", and used his body to re-make the 6 worlds.
So apparently Rollo wasnt some weird anybody, he was some kind of demigod!
(And after that Otherworld King came and took over)

Which kinda makes it harder to activate than Crescent Howling...

Suprise the opponent with it, and youre probably in for game, because it recovers the spirit too!

Yellow gets yet another "Can splash anywhere" magic
Yep, If youre on the losing end of the battle for BP, you can just throw this card, and ignore the battle and ends it without losing anything, and recover your spirit! Attack again!
Breeze Ride
Cool name, but rather than the +3000 effect, Id rather focus more on the "Comes back to hand every turn".
Like Hagen, only Green doesnt really discard... much, except Hand Reverse...
Maybe combo with Canyon of Sage or Burning Canyon?

So, I read an article about winning games in Battle Spirits...
and the various ways the most common decks win by.

So I wondered how I was winning.
Other than... Im not, I guess its the last one.
Yeah. The one most likely to be limited to 1 within the week LOL
So... after BRAVE, its a new series!
Starting in october, and with it starts a new series of booster packs!
Just like brave brought along with it the Stars Series, the new Anime will be bringing with it a 4 booster pack Chapter.
About the new Anime: Its titled: "Battle Spirits Heroes"
In Japanese its バトルスピリッツ覇王編
覇王 translates directly to "Ruler" or "Conqueror".
But not "Hero". So... yeah.
The new chapter will start off with the new starter deck, as we already know
and will be followed by 4 booster sets, the first one going on sale in October... Or November
So about the anime:
1: It Takes place in THIS WORLD!
The protagonist will travel to battle spirits shops and play there
2: It will relate anime and newly sold product.
IE: The protagonist will buy boosters that are in existance.
3: It will take into account actual tournaments
Im not sure how this will work, but tournament locations that appear in the anime will be expanded upon... Basically they want an anime about real battle spirits life.
4: New game system
Yeah nothing new here.

Battle Spirits First Battle Set(ooh)
80 cards(4 half decks(20 cards each)), 30 blue cores, void case, 2 playsheets, 1 rule manual, 2 deck guides, 1 tutorial DVD, (Unconfirmed: 2 Life Counters)
2500 yen.
This one is for 2 people(1 deck for each person.)
The 2 decks are made of 2 colors, which are 20 card half decks each.
The 2 deck combinations are: Red/Purple, and White/Green.
Rumor has it it will have 2 X Rares(1 Red or Purple, 1 White or Green)(Seigwurm Nova(DARKwurm Nova?) + Ragna-rock?)
And 1 M Rare for each half deck.
Whether the deck is made of reprint cards or entirely new cards... is still unknown
The DVD will be of the Voice Actors of either new anime or old anime(Brave/Gekiha) teaching... using the decks in the set.
Rules of thumb:
1: Everything under 4000BP is as good as dead.
2: If you have 2 or less life, YOU are as good as dead.
3: You can be outnumbered. Easily. Always be ready to be zerg rushed.
4: ALWAYS Be ready to be zergling rushed.
5: 1/4 of your deck should be able to hold off the 1st turn zergling rush. At least.
6: If your opponent is NOT a zerg rush deck, be ready to take 4 life at any time after turn 3. ANY TIME. Have a little weenie out there to save your life.
5 Cost Magic. 4 Red deduct Symbols
Open 4 of your cards. Summon ONE Spirit with "光導" As its type without paying its cost.
Whao.
It looks like someone is forgetting a certain cost 12 Spirit has "光導" as its type too.
Just... Zodiac Crimison suddenly got a lot more viable.
Seventh Apollo still sucks.
We all know Storm Draw: Draw 3 then discard 2...
And Strong Draw: Draw 3 then discard 2... as Bleu!
And Vulcan Arms: A blue/Green.... Draw 3 then discard 2... Costs more, but allows you to power up your spirits after its summoned.
Whilst these guys dont exactly gives you any advantage of any sort, they all allow you to get a better and more balanced hand, much like The Burning Canyon does.
1 Storm Draw, 3 Strong Draw, and 3 Vulcan Arms all together has been called "Seven Storm", an engine that can be used by either green or blue, allowing you get a very balanced and reliable engine and draw force for your deck.
These 3 cards allows Blue/Green decks to be the most reliable build around.
Compare this to the other draw powers the other colors have:
Purple: Spirits that draw 1 when summoned
Red: Too many to count.
Yellow: Farseer Pentan, Helen(summon, DRAW 3 >.>)
White: Classically no draw power(Although there has been talk going around about splashing some red to play Revive Draw
Clearly the most consistent deck out there ought to be Blue/Green, no?
They have boss monsters in the form of Jungle Emperor Coyo and that supid broken X rare that blows up to 15 cards off the opponents deck every attack(oh. Which one? err... the only one with Green deduction symbols.)
Core boost like no tommorow thanks to green.
Woot so I managed to crack a Purple brave pack.

When they summon a big spirit, watch cores to be wary of dream ribbon/chest
Summon Seigwurm Vega, Attach burn crow.
Send said Seigwurm Vega/Crow to crash into spirit larger than itself.
Watch the magic happen.

Obviously your braves are going to be 2X Cerebral Lord and 3X Ball Gunner(can fuse with Yashiun and Shaman Draguno!)

So the deck I used to start was Seig Evolution Revolution! ("High Ranker Deck")
Because of my previous experience with card games(such as Yugioh, Duel Masters, Magic the Gathering, etc), I could make quite some changes that would make the deck better.
Of course, with a little help from the wiki :p
